Are you looking for a great tropical destination? Not sure where to go but you want something tropical and fun for you and your girls? Why not travel to San Pedro, Belize!
Me and a few girls of mine went and had the time of our lives! All during the month of September which was the island Independence Celebration Month and festival.

Our stay at the Brahma Blue Resort in San Pedro was breathtaking. To get there we had to fly on a mini flight to the beautiful La Isla Bonita and then a quick ferry over the bay which took us to a private island where the Brahma Blu Resort lies. At the resort you can go swimming, relax at their spa, enjoy complimentary drinks or snacks at the bar, and capture beautiful scenic views of the island. Each resort has a personal rooftop pool or jacuzzi and a mini bar. Definitely a place of peace and tranquility but on the main island the parteee turn-up!!
While we waited in their airport we played dominoes and tried the island’s beer, Belikin, which is pretty tasty.
Here is a list of my favorite spots in San Pedro, Belize

- Secret Beach: was a golf cart ride away but was totally worth it. These mini golf carts are all around the island for rent and it’s how the city locals get around. From riding the carts you can see the island beaches in a more intimate setting and all the local bars/pubs that are stationed along side the beach in these little shack like huts. The island is very majestical and unique with lush mangroves and splendid swimming areas.

Once you get to Secret Beach you can chill along side the beach side bar where there are tables inside the water and we ate fresh caught lobster right there. Secret Beach has great music, drinks, food, and tranquility since there wasn’t much commotion or tourist on the beach. - El Fogon is a local restaurant with delicious authentic Belizean cuisine. Below is the fresh lobster I ate from their restaurant. Everything tasted really fresh and very seasoned – I’ll definitely recommend it to any one.

One night we enjoyed fireworks at Sunset Lounge and rooftop bar as the island celebrated their independence day. The DJ their was too turnt all I could do was keep dancing to Belize’s soca hits. The next day was the parade where people were dressed up in costumes with large feathers, stomping around the beach town with steel pans and island hits – that was an amazing thing to be apart of! My hips wouldn’t stop swinging and the drinks were flowing everyone was really dancing all day and night.

Some girls went swimming with the sharks while I stayed at the resort and enjoy a full body scrub and massage with the island’s natural honey and shea butter oils. The girls that swam with the sharks said it was a-lot of fun feeling the sharks swim up to them and they were nurse sharks so nothing to be too frighten of.

When I went to Belize not once did I think about the usual life worries or tv shows, I enjoyed the present moment and being in the now. I had a moment to take in my surroundings and enjoy nature and relax. That’s something I want to practice now learning to enjoy where I am today and living in the present moments.
Take a look at my trip recap and tell me what’s your favorite part about vacations? Where are you planning on going next?
