24 HR CEASE FIRE – No Gun Violence

Hip-hop, unity, and advocacy collide at the annual People Matter Fest (PMF), led by none other than radio legend and community advocate Papa Keith. This electrifying event, in collaboration with Miami-Dade County Chairman Oliver G. Gilbert, III, is set to take over Ives Estate Park on Sunday, March 24th, from 12 pm to 7 pm.

But the action starts even earlier with a bang all at the Cease Fire Press Conference at Ives Estate Park. This press conference will be kicking off a powerful weekend of music, family fun, and most importantly, advocacy.

Papa Keith’s People Matter Foundation (PK4PM) is the driving force behind this initiative, aiming to empower communities and amplify voices through the vibrant culture of hip-hop. We’re challenging Miami-Dade to put the guns down for 24 hours, starting Saturday, March 23rd, at 7 pm, continuing through the festival until Sunday, March 24th, at 7 pm.

“In a world often marred by division and discord, it’s essential that we unite, elevate, and advocate for one another,” says Papa Keith. “The People Matter Fest and 24-Hour Ceasefire Weekend embody the spirit of collective empowerment and resilience. Together, we can create a future where every voice is heard, and every life matters.”

Miami-Dade County Chairman Oliver G. Gilbert, III, echoes this sentiment:

“Unity is our strength, and this event exemplifies our shared commitment to fostering a community where everyone is valued. Join us in promoting peace, understanding, and solidarity.”

Romania Dukes, a fearless advocate and founder of Mothers Fighting for Justice, stands with the movement in urging the community to rally for peace. “It’s time to relinquish firearms and reclaim our neighborhoods,” she says. “Together, we can construct a safer future for all.”

The People Matter Fest isn’t just about entertainment; it’s about empowerment. Through PK4PM, we provide valuable resources and platforms for Millennials and Gen Z to express themselves through art, music, entrepreneurship, and activism.

And let’s not forget the power of the ballot box! Just Vote Period joins us to encourage attendees to make their voices heard this election year, ensuring their concerns shape their communities. Jazmyn Walcott, Communications Director of Just Vote Period explains that “we are excited to partner with this event that connects with our young adults, and we look forward to engaging them in voting.”

With performances by Grammy-nominated Hip-Hop Star Offset, Bossman DLow, NoJwettz, Major Nine, Ace Hood, Ice Berg, Trick Daddy, Uncle Luke, Skilla Baby, Mellow Rackz, ICandy, Frank Kastle, and many more, this year’s People Matter Fest promises to be unforgettable.
