Listening to DVSN sends me in a mood filled with bubble baths and champagne.
Instantly reminiscence, hearing Rhythm and Blues (R&B) again. Just like the feeling of hearing Genuwine for the first time. The same thoughts and emotions came rushing back as when I was a teenager, just now I understand what the music is expressing. Like knowing what it feels to love another and give them your all. Or the feeling of an instant connection with another soul. What I felt when I was younger were the soft yet sweet ballads and melodies humming over a gentle and heart warming beat.
DVSN pronounced as Division is a Canadian R&B duo originated from Canada and signed to Drake’s OVO Sound. The group consist of Daniel Daley and Nineteen85, who is a producer and songwriter from Toronto.
Male R&B singers is a scrumptious site to see, it’s not often you see or even hear a guy express themselves. DVSN is confessing it all through songs and singing about how he truly feels. “I fall asleep and dream about you,” was one if his lines in song Hallucinations.
I relate so much to his song “Nuh Time/Tek Time.” It’s as if I’m singing this very same song to my ex-boyfriend because I wanted him to spend more time with me. In hindsight he was still right there trying to make time but you make extra time for what you really want. Read the lyrics for yourself below.
DVSN: Nuh Time/Tek Time Lyrics
Shit, I should’ve called you
But I got caught up
Your friends are single
They shouldn’t talk up
You wanted daytime
I gave you late night
You’re getting tired of
Saying the same shit, all day
And you always say
I hate when it feels like
You don’t have time for me
Nuh nuh
She said, she said
I hate when it feels like
You don’t have time for me
Nuh nuh
I know you say that
People make time for
Shit that they want well
It’s not that I don’t want you
It’s that you want more
From me
You make it hard to trust you
And right now you’re talking crazy
First marriage, then babies
Then text me, you hate me
But we still do the same thing all day
All day
And you always say
I hate when it feels like
You don’t have time for me
Nuh nuh
You said, you said
I hate when it feels like
You don’t have time for me
Nuh time
I don’t have any time
Aw yea, ouuu
I don’t have time for you
Aw yea, aw yea
Tell me if my words are getting through
So I can stop explaining
If I’m already good enough for you
Then won’t you stop complaining
That body needs a little maintenance
I know
You just point me to where the pain is
And you been patient sitting in your room waiting
Anything good takes time
And I’ll take the time to take care of you baby
I rode out there it ain’t fair to you baby
I don’t want it if you ain’t there with it baby
I don’t want shit that I can’t share with you baby
(Me I’m all yours) And you’re mine
As soon as I get home to you
I wanna take my time with you
With you
Yea
I wanna take my time with you

From beginning to end this album above will have you deep thinking about your current situation or even looking back at past relationships. Where you’ll pick up those pieces and explore fully what you learned from it all. “Think About Me” definitely makes me feel like I’m in my shower and singing to myself to the top of my lungs! “Don’t think that we could ever be just platonic.”
